Of all the crew and colonists packed aboard the Shikong Zushi, bound for the Butterfly Cluster at FTL speeds, it is six-year-old Guan Pei-zi (‘Phaser’ to those grown used to her boundless energy) who seems most likely to bring about disaster. On the other hand, when the ship skirts too near a supermassive hole and is sucked beyond the event horizon, it is also Phaser who just might imagine them a way out!
